I've completed Licensed Advisor Training, what do I do now?
There are a couple of great resources to help you in your journey of growing as a Hope Squad Advisor. Review below for some ideas on how to help you get started:
- Review the Certified Advisor Training Microlearning Modules. These Microlearning Modules give you a great quick overview of tools you can use in serving your Squad and carrying out your responsibilities as an Advisor
- Check the Getting Started section of the Advisor Portal. In the Getting Started section you'll find a step-by-step breakdown of what you need to do to get started including the following topics:
- Meeting with Administration (Principal Agreement & faculty introductory materials)
- Meet with other Hope Squad Advisor(s) (Student Nomination Video)
- Facilitate & Review Nominations (Sample Congratulation Letter & Sample Member Contract).
- Schedule & Hold the First Meeting with Nominated Students (Parent Permission Form; available in Spanish & English)
- Hold Prospective Parent/Guardian Meetings (Parent Presentations & Community Letters).
- Hold the Second Meeting with Hope Squad Members (Elementary & Secondary Pre-surveys, QR codes to Mental Health Referral Form and surveys).
- Use the Implementation Planning Guide resource found in the Getting Started section of the Advisor Portal. Navigate to Getting Started and then scroll down to Step 1 "Meet with Administrator" and you'll find the Implementation Planning Guide under the list of resources.
- Use the Advisor Community. The Advisor Community is a fantastic resource where you can connect with other advisors across the nation. When you want to hear what other Squads are doing, this is the right place to go!
